Bipod?

Hello! I'm Dan. I love making images. I'm an Arizona native and my wife Jackie of 20+ years and I have two daughters. I started in art and photography at a young age, which my Mom helped DEVELOP (dad joke) by gifting me more advanced cameras over the years for Christmas. Eventually I was DRAWN (dad joke) to illustration and graphic design but lost interest as it required long hours in front of a computer. I found my way back to photography guided by a generous Mother and Father in-law and by combining my love of hiking and landscape photography.

I love all types of photography. Shooting astro, landscape, macro, and portraits seem to be what I enjoy most and require different approaches of how to record light. Astrophotography requires hours to take a single exposure while a macro shot of a smoke bomb igniting is shot within 1000ths of a second. Landscape and portraits are about how light lands and reflects back to the viewers eye, but should also tell a story that captivates you.

Even though I'm extremely introverted I found a strong interest in taking family and graduation photos for close friends and family. I experience an extreme imposter syndrome when shooting but I'm finding every session gets a little easier to do. So here I am, seeking strangers to collaborate with to make amazing images with and truth be told, I'm probably more excited to see your finished photos than you are.
